The Tourism Office on the Paseo de Vista Alegre in Torrevieja has won first prize in the 2017 Una Vista Feliz (a happy view) awards of the Valencian Tourism Agency (AVT). It scored an average of 9.87 out of 10, sharing the award with the office on Benissa beach.
The ceremony in Elche was attended by Councillor Fanny Serrano and the office workers. Serrano said “they are an outstanding team who almost got top marks and I’m very happy and satisfied with this team who always have a smile on their faces to receive visitors and that is the best welcome to Torrevieja, even though they are often very busy with up to a thousand people per day at peak times in August”.
“The truth is they are brilliant and Torrevieja is maintaining its tradition of being a town that is friendly to visitors and hospitable to everyone.”
The contest evaluated 149 Tourist Info Offices using mystery shoppers to survey various objective criteria. Valencian Tourism chief Raquel Huete said the offices “are places that really promote the economy of the Valencian Community”.
