It probably seems like a long time ago now and hard to imagine that it might ever have been cold enough, but earlier this year it did actually snow across the Vega Baja area.
The snowfall of January 18 in La Mata and Torrevieja is the title of an exhibition of more than 80 photographs from that historic day, which have been taken by various people and compiled by the local weather experts of the Mastral Project.
There are images of the beaches, the port and the natural park all covered in snow, offering a once in a lifetime vision of the municipality.
They will be on display at the Centro Polivalente in La Mata from the inauguration at 6:30 pm on Saturday August 12th until August 31st. Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.
