Torrevieja University Hospital has obtained the Joint Commission International (JCI), the most prestigious healthcare accreditation which guarantees patients compliance with high quality standards, recognised at an international level.

It is the second public hospital in the Valencian Community and fourth in Spain to obtain this recognition, which puts it in the network of the best hospitals in the world.

The world leader in evaluation, the JCI has guaranteed that patient care meets the most demanding quality and safety levels, the hospital is reliable and patients come first, explained the manager of the centre, Doctor Jose Antonio Velasco.

The JCI evaluates more than 1,200 elements including safety, accessibility, continuity of attention, and the rights of the patient and their family.

The accreditation has a validity of three years during which health centres must keep meeting the quality standards.

It's just a pity that everything has to last for a long time, wait for 2 years on a small operation to remove a sist who knows in September or October they will take pictures of the knee it wil last another 6 months before I can go to a doctor And who knows in 2019, I will get an appointment for surgery And maybe 2020 they will perform it

My husband David passed away in Torrevieja hospital in December 2014. He was in intensive care for nearly 2 months doing everything that they could to save him. The staff and doctors were wonderful. I am so pleased he had the best care and attention in his last days. I have had ulcerated colitis and now have been diagnosed with crohns. The specialists I have seen up to now have been marvalose I can not fault anything that they do for me. Thank you all you wonderfull people.

Have had to use this Hospital on several occasions and in comparison to Hospitals in Alicante and also in U.K., it is an excellent Medical Hospital and I have never been treated in any better place.

My husband was in Torrevieja hospital for two weeks earlier this year. Fantastic staff and treatment and the following outpatient follow up has been first class. Consider ourselves very fortunate to live here.
