The Torrevieja summer lifeguard service on the beaches has got off to a smooth start yesterday, said Councillor Javier Manzanares. He reminded that they are on duty on the following beaches: playa de La Mata, playa de Los Locos, playa de El Cura and playa de Los Náufragos.
The service will be available until September 15th between the hours of 11am and 7pm. As well as keeping watch on the ground they will have a boat covering the whole seafront from the Canal del Acequión in La Mata to Punta Prima.
From June 15th-30th and September 1st-15th is considered mid season and has 27 people on duty, while from July 1st-August 31st is high season and there will be 51 people working on the above beaches, as well as Cabo Cervera, Cala Piteras and the Juan Aparicio promenade swimming areas.
Manzanares reminded that the assisted swimming service for people with reduced mobility is available at playa de Los Locos, the swimming area of Juan Aparicio promenade and playa de Los Náufragos from July 1st to August 31st between 11am and 7pm.
