Elderly lady and daughter fell several metres into hole when balustrade gave waypool construction quesada

Two women, a mother and her daughter aged 70 and 40 were injured on Thursday after falling 4.5 metres into a swimming pool that was under construction at a house on Calle Costa de la Luz in Ciudad Quesada, Rojales.

The two woman, both Swedish, were leaning on a balustrade when it gave way and they fell into the hole, which was full of metal supports.

The daughter was able to climb out by herself but the mother had to be rescued by the fire brigade with help from the Local Police and medics. They used a net stretcher and she was taken to Torrevieja Hospital with extensive bruising.
