19 suspects include officers from Torrevieja and Pilar de la Horadada and an English man
The Guardia Civil have arrested ten of their own officers from the stations in Torrevieja and Pilar de la Horadada as part of an operation against drug dealing. In total 19 people were arrested and another seven are being investigated for their involvement in this activity that was taking place in Alicante, Valencia, Cádiz and Murcia provinces.
The operation started after a member of the public reported the alleged activities of the gang.
The investigations ended with the arrests of nine men of Spanish, Belgian, English and Colombian nationalities who belonged to the drug dealing gang. All the officers were arrested in the Vega Baja area except one who was detained in the region of Murcia, according to the Guardia Civil.
Three laboratories for preparing cocaine were shut down and 200 grams of this drug were seized, along with chemical substances, presses and other products for treating and adulterating the cocaine, as well as a gun, €25,000 in cash and a large quantity of computing equipment and mobile phones.
