Councillor Raquel Sirvent has presented the programme of activities for the LGTB Pride Fiesta that will take place in Dolores this weekend, on June 16th, 17th and 18th.
She said “this is the first year that Dolores has put on this fiesta, which is to demand equal rights for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or identity”.
She explained “the Town Hall wants to help to make all aspects of every person’s life normal. There should be no social, occupational, religious obstacles of any kind. They must feel and be treated as what they are, fully fledged citizens”.
The activities start on Friday at 11:30pm with a welcome party at Pub Asellus with spirit and mixer drinks for only €3.50.
On Saturday there will be a demonstration for equality at 8:30pm outside the Town Hall, followed at 9:30pm by the official announcement, which will be made by Carla Antonelli, a Socialist MP in Madrid who is a renowned activist for LGTB rights.
This will be followed by a Multi-coloured Parade at 10pm and then a party in Pub Aldabra.
On Sunday from 11am-2pm there will be attractions and workshops for children in the Plaza Cardenal Belluga, as well as a Zumba masterclass in Café Pub Evasión at 11:30am.
