Town Hall awards prizes for recent Tapas Route On Thursday Mayor José Manuel Butrón and Councillor Ana Belén Juárez Pastor of Los Montesinos Town Hall presented the awards to the winners of the 2018 Tapas Route. Pilar watchtower owners refuse access to inspectors

Town hall wants to restore monument to allow visitors The family that owns the watchtower of Pilar de la Horadada, built in 1591, denied access to Valencian Government Culture inspectors on Monday, when they had come to check on the preservation of the building. Guardia Civil detain three men, one in Torrevieja, for stealing €200,000 worth of goods from lorries The Guardia Civil have arrested three Spanish men on suspicion of robbing two heavy goods vehicles and their cargo. The operation recovered the two trucks valued at about €120,000 and goods worth €200,000. The suspects were detained in Navalcarnero and Arroyomolinos in Madrid, and in Torrevieja. Bicycle Day ride in Orihuela Costa

Tour on April 21st complements exhibition and children’s workshop Orihuela will be celebrating world Bicycle Day with activities from Thursday, April 19th- Sunday the 22nd. Guardia Civil catch local cocaine traffickers

Drugs from Colombia were treated in laboratories in Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa Guardia Civil and the Customs Agency have arrested 20 men and a woman in Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa and El Campello for being members of an important international drug trafficking organisation. The suspects are of Spanish, Colombian, British, Moroccan, Serbian and Bulgarian nationalities. Operation “Alicafé” started almost a year ago when officers detected a shipment of cocaine at ‘Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas’ airport destined for Torrevieja.
