The popular Symphonic Orchestra of Torrevieja, who is about to celebrate its tenth anniversary, has just presented its programme of concerts and events for the forthcoming year, which will take place at the Auditorium in Torrevieja.

The programme, which has been put together with the local public in mind, will include six special concerts with well-known and prestigious artists from Europe, as well as a new cycle of chamber music concerts under the direction of violinist Stanislav Tkach.

The first concert will take place on Sunday 2 December and consists of Mozart and Schubert pieces performed by the orchestra together with flute soloist Jordi López.

Following this, the New Year will be heralded with two concerts of waltzes, polkas and Spanish music on the 5 and 6 January.

On 2 March, the concert will be in honour of the Norwegian public, with a performance of Norwegian composer and pianist Edvard Greig’s music.

For the springtime and the month of May, the OST has prepared a special concert of movie soundtracks, including some of the most popular tracks from films such as Jurassic Park, Gladiator and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. This will be followed by a concert of Spanish music, principally zarzuela preludes and intermediaries.

The three chamber music concerts will take place on 26 January (Mozart), 20 April (Haendel, Vivaldi and Bach) and 8 June (Mozart and Haydn).
