This weekend, over the course of Saturday and Sunday, Santa Pola will be celebrating the VIII Agility Dog Competition.

This important competition in the canine world has been organised by the Club Star Can and will be held at the Dog Activities Centre Agility in Santa Pola, with points counting towards the Championship of Spain of the R.S.C.E. of 2019.

More than 100 dogs of different breeds will participate in this competition, with owners coming from various municipalities to accompany their pets.

There are three levels of competition, Grade I, II and III. The higher the level, the greater the difficulty. And there are also three categories, depending on the size of the dog, Mini, Midi and Standard.

During the agility test, the dogs, led by their guides, will have to overcome various obstacles that have been arranged in circuits, and finish in the quickest time possible.

The participants do not know which tracks the judge will choose and each time they will be different. The guide has seven minutes to memorize the track and to think how their pet will move around it so that it is completed quickly and without penalty.

If the dog performs an obstacle in different order than the one indicated, he will be disqualified and removed from the competition.
