The second part of the XVI edition of the Tapas Route will take place in Torrevieja from today, Thursday 22 November until Sunday.

Just over 40 local establishments will participate in this edition, offering a total of 172 tapas between them.

Torrevieja was the first municipality in the region to introduce the popular Tapas Route, which now takes place in almost every other town nearby.

For this reason, Fanny Serrano, Councillor for Tourism, announced that next year, she wants to do something different, creating a new format for the Tapas Route, with the aim of becoming more modern and innovative.

However, going back to this edition of the Tapas Route, as always, each establishment will offer a choice of tapas: The Tapa de la Casa or House Tapa for 2€ and the more expensive and sophisticated Gourmet Tapa, which costs 2,5€. Both of these prices include a drink to go with the tapa.

Joaquín Guillamó, President of the Torrevieja and Regional Hostelery Association noted that the standard of tapas this year is extremely high, as is the number of participating bars and restaurants, with all of them upping their game to ensure that they are voted as providing the best tapas by the public.
