Torrevieja has opened its doors for the winter, including an opportunity for dogs to swim!
The municipal swimming pool in Torrevieja has reopened its doors, according to the councillor for sports, Víctor Ferrández, announcing that, “The new bathing season was opened last Friday and they will maintain the same prices and schedules as last year.”
The indoor pool will be open from Tuesday to Friday from 15:15 to 21:30, uninterrupted, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:15 to 14:00, while on Mondays, which is the day that is dedicated to maintenance, the pool will remain open in the afternoon from 15:15 to 21:30 hours.
The cost of 3 euro for general admission and 2 euro for the special group (over 60 years, under 15 years, people with a regiastered disability greater than 33 percent, youth card and large family), will be maintained.
In a surprise move, one which will please many pet owners, the councillor said that dogs will be able to swim in the outdoor pool, so long as they are accompanied by their owners, next weekend, October 27 and 28, from 11:00 to 14:30 hours, in a move advertised as a chance to “Share” the pool “with your dog”. What’s more, admission will be free. Dog owners will have to bring the pet’s paperwork and sign a statement of iliability. In addition, potentially dangerous dogs will have to swim with the mandatory safety measures (muzzle and leash). The named owner on the dog’s documentation is the one who can accompany the animal.
Ferrández explained that “we will provide this service before the final closure of the pool until next season in order to allow the animals to enjoy this experience and follow the line that Torrevieja is considered a pet frendly city”
