This weekend sees one of the most varied sporting events to take place in the area, the Mar Menor Games
Get ready for sporting action, as the “Mar Menor Games” is taking place this week, a sporting event that brings together competitions, exhibitions and sports activities to encourage a healthy life in one of the healthiest areas of the region.
The third edition of the event will be held in San Pedro del Pinatar (Region of Murcia), with the nerve centre set up in the Parque del Mar, with sports activities along more than 1,200 metres of coastline.
The varied games will take place at different at different locations along the coast, and along the promenade, parks, sand and water of the beaches of San Pedro del Pinatar.
For fans wanting to look at the sporting events, you will have more than 60 to choose from, including diving, chess, athletics, motorsport, badminton, basketball, handball, baseball, boxing, cycling, colombicultura (pigeons), fitness, American football, gymnastics, weightlifting, equestrian, judo, kickboxing, Olympic fights, motorbike racing, skating, canoeing, rugby, taekwondo, beach tents, archery, sailing, beach volleyball, water polo and much more.
Surrounding the action will be a wide range of exhibitions and static displays, and stalls providing information on sports, health and more.
The event is on this weekend, Saturday 6 October, 2018, starting at 10:00 a.m., and Sunday 7 October from 3:00 p.m.
