Search Underway for Missing Boats

A search and rescue operation is underway off the coast, after one small boat made land earlier, and two more were spotted about 35 miles off the coast of La Manga. An aircraft from the Customs Surveillance Service has been joined by a Search and Rescue helicopter from the Salvamento Maritimo, searching for two boats some 35 miles off the coast of La Manga on Monday night. No Increase in Torrevieja Property Tax

There’s good news for property owners in Torrevieja, in that the local government has announced that the IBI property tax (colloquially referred to as SUMA), will not increase in 2019. According to the councillor for finance on Torrevieja council, José Hurtado, there is “enough margin” so as to not raise the current property tax rate in the municipality, the IBI, known locally as the SUMA on account of that being the name of the collection agency employed to receive the funds. Only taxis registered in the Region of Murcia will be permitted by law to collect passengers arriving at the International Airport of Corvera.
