The local town fiestas taking place in the municipality of San Miguel de Salinas are two weeks in to their month-long trajectory. And with two weeks still to go, there is still plenty going on for the whole family to enjoy.

Last night was the popular Oktober Fest, which had everyone drinking and eating until the early hours, but tonight we switch to a more rhythmic, passionate and emotional influence with a Carnival-style evening of activities.

This evening’s events kick off at 19.00h with a colourful street parade of floats and troupes dressed up in Carnival-style costumes. The parade will pass around the whole town for everyone to see and join in.

After the parade, in the main square, the Plaza de la Libertad, local band Iguana will perform, and a BBQ will also be available.

The party doesn’t stop there as it then moves to the Barraca Popular and will continue with the Latin sounds of ‘La C y N con Carlos and Nico, where you can salsa and samba the night away until your feet tell you otherwise.

The festivities will continue on Sunday with a mini bull run for children with pretend bulls and a water balloon fight. The bull run starts at the town hall at 17.30h and finishes at the Montesico Blanco football stadium.

Back at the Plaza de la Libertad at 20.30h, the weekend is rounded off with a choir performance from San Miguel’s very own Alcores together with the Ricard Lafuente choir from Torrevieja.
