It’s a dirty job, but it would be great if you could do it!
This Saturday evening, you can help the local environment and join the team of volunteers who will be spending a few hours cleaning up the local coastal area in the second edition of the Collection of Cigarette Ends in the San Pedro Salt Lakes – it sounds better in Spanish (II Recogida de Colinas en las Salinas de San Pedro)!
With this event, the environmental group Pinatar Natura hopes to carry out the largest collection and clean up of cigarette butts that has ever taken place on the Mar Menor.
Thousands of dog ends are left on our beaches every summer. They contaminate the water and birds and fish often mistake them for something that they can eat.
The massive clean up will take place over the La Mota beach, the windmill walkway and by the mud baths.
And, at the end of the two hours, participants will be able to relax and enjoy the best ‘chocolate and churros’ as a thank you.
To participate in this event, please send an email to [email protected] with your name and NIE.
