Activities include snorkelling trip to Tabarca island
The application for the Torrevieja Urban Youth Camp, which takes place from July 30th to August 10th for children aged 12-14 and is totally free, opens on Monday.
A total of 20 places are available.
Organised by the Town Hall Youth Centre (CIAJ), it will consist of fun but also educational activities from 10am to 1:30pm each day, explained Councillor Víctor Ferrández.
It will also help parents who don’t know what to do with their children while they have to work.
One of the objectives is to teach them values like getting along together, respect and friendship through healthy and fun alternative activities.
“They can enjoy new experiences with new friends in different surroundings,” he said.
Although the camp is based at the CIAJ, the activities take place all over the municipality, including beaches and museums as well as workshops like crafts, dancing, theatre and cinema, among others.
There is also a trip to Tabarca island to go snorkelling in the marine reserve, which includes an overnight stay.
Applications and information are available at the CIAJ, Paseo Juan Aparicio 5, between 9am and 2pm, or call 96 571 4072.
