Budget airline Ryanair offers new routes from Bilbao and Southend
The Irish low-cost airline that people love to hate currently operates from 26 Spanish cities. However, after announcing that for summer 2019 a new route will be established from the north-east city of Bilbao, this will take that total from 26 to 27.
Not only this, but another new route that will begin to operate from April 2019 – from London Southend – will also connect the south of England to a greater number of cities in Spain.
The Southend-Bilbao route will operate four flights a week, with Southend also flying to Alicante (5 flights/week), Palma (4 flights/week), Málaga (5 flights/week) and Reus (2 flights/week).
Ryanair also said that passengers will be able to make the most of even cheaper prices through their “Always Getting Better” programme, which also includes:
- A reduction in the price of checked-in luggage – 25€ for a 20kg-suitcase
- Ryanair Transfers – wider choice of ground transport with new partner Car Trawler
- Price Promise – find a cheaper fare and Ryanair will refund the difference +5€ to your My Ryanair account
- Punctuality Promise – Ryanair pledges to maintain the 90% rate for punctuality of flight arrivals
With the new routes scheduled from Southend (13 in total), the low-cost airline will be able to transport more than a million passengers a year to their favourite destinations, plus more than 750 on-site jobs will also be created.
