Meteorological station installed in La Mata-Torrevieja Natural Park

The Mastral Project, an association of weather aficionados in Torrevieja, has installed a weather station in the Lagunas de La Mata y Torevieja Natural Park to record and study the climate over the coming years.

The station automatically compiles data on temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed and rain. This data will be available on the Mastral Project website,, soon.

It also has a manual rain gauge from AEMET, the Spanish Met Office, which is already compiling official data.

There is a webcam to view the park in real time from anywhere in the world, also on the Mastral Project website.

The data and images will be very useful for studies of climate change and its impact on flora and fauna in the park and for designing educational activities.
