Fire by the N-332 near Torrevieja

Vegetation and pine trees burned by Doña Monse Hotel A fire today, Thursday burned  300 square metres of vegetation and pine trees on land next to the N-332 between San Miguel de Salinas y Torrevieja, specifically level with the Doña Monse Hotel, according to the Provincial Fire Brigade. It started at 1:19pm in a place near to several urbanisations and fire fighters from the Vega Sur fire station in Torrevieja went to deal with it. Activities next week before the big bonfire night A week of activities in Torrevieja’s Molinos del Calvario neighbourhood are planned for the run up to the Hogueras de San Juan fiesta on June 24th. Lanes will always be open to the general public Torrevieja Councillor Víctor Ferrández has announced that the municipal outdoor swimming pool is due to open on Monday, June 18th. He noted that this could be delayed if the last bout of rain has altered the chemical levels and the water quality is not adequate, but if so the indoor pool will remain open in the meantime. Pilar spends €45,000 on new beach facilities

Weather station to be installed in Pinar de Campoverde Pilar de la Horadada Town Hall has approved a contract to supply two new lifeguard huts for Playas de las Higuericas and Mil Palmeras for a total of €37,510.
