Over 300,000 people attended the celebrations
The King of Spain, King Filipe, was amongst the attendees at the General Air Academy in San Javier this weekend, as the academy played host to static display of aircraft on Saturday and an amazing air show on Sunday.
The event coincided with the 75th anniversary of the academy, located in Santiago de la Ribera on the coast of the Mar Menor.
More than 300,000 people attended the two-day event, with a range of both historic and new aircraft on hand on the Saturday, when scores of people queued to have a closer look, sit inside or have their photograph taken with the aircraft and their pilots.
On the Sunday, the action was in the air, starting off with a parachute display, and ending with a colourful performance by the Patrulla Águila, the Spanish equivalent to the Red Arrows, with a range of aircraft on display in between.
