Extra fire fighters for the Vega Baja this summer

Summer outpost opened in Pilar de la Horadada to improve response time The Alicante Provincial Council is setting up and Emergency prevention and action plan  to cover the Vega Sur area of Torrevieja, Pilar de la Horadada, San Miguel de Salinas, Los Montesinos and Orihuela Costa. The increase in population in the summer means, among other things, more traffic which can slow response times. Orihuela inaugurates El Palmetum botanical garden

University plants 350 Phoenix palm trees from around the world by the River Segura Orihuela now has the largest collection o date palms – of the genus Phoenix – in the world. Miguel Hernández University (UMH) and the Town Hall have inaugurated El Palmetum, a garden with 350 examples from different countries which have been planted in the groves of the River Segura.
