Provincial Council approves payment to cover 100% of the cost The Provincial Council of Alicante has agreed to modify a loan so that 100% of the cost of renovating street lighting in La Mata in Torrevieja can be paid for with an investment of €912,620. Orihuela mayor denies being paid for civil servant job without going to work

Bascuñana claims story is a ‘campaign to discredit’ him over six year position with Valencian Health Department The mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana has denied a story published exclusively by which accused him of having taken a public wage from the Valencian Health Department in Alicante between 2007 and 2014 – but not actually going to work.
