Valencian Government announces new public transport routes The Valencian Government is setting up a new public transport service that would connect residents here in the Vega Baja with the AVE (High Speed Train) in Elche and Alicante. It has announced there will be a minimum of 10 buses making about 53 trips per day. Portuguese man o’war alerts on Costa Blanca beaches

Swimming bans and warnings issued after sightings in the Vega Baja Pilar de la Horadada prohibited swimming at all of its beaches on Sunday after the feared Portuguese man o’war appeared in the waters there. The Town Hall took the decision to put up the red flag along the coast to not take any chances, as it is a highly toxic marine species with a dangerous sting.
