Five days of music, dancing, horses food and festivities
Pilar de la Horadada Town Hall has presented this year’s Sevillanas Fair, with the usual mix.
It is taking place from Friday April 27th until Tuesday May 1st at the Recinto Ferial Raimundo Benedicto.
It will start with the fiesta lights being turned on and a firework display, followed by the Antonio Cuerva Dance Academy and a wine tasting offered by the Housewives Association (Amas de Casa).
Councillor Armenteros noted that about 3,000 square metres of land from the fiesta enclosure to the main road has been asphalted to reduce the amount of dust and mud produced.
This year there will also be more private security guards in addition to the Local Police presence, and a more thorough cleaning service.
Each day there will be tapas available from the ‘casetas’ (huts) for €2 from 11am to 1pm, and sevillanas music will be played all around the fair from 10am to 2am.
There will also be children’s activities in the marquee from the 28th to the 1st from 12pm-2pm and 5pm-8pm.
On Saturday the 28th at noon there will be a Rociera Mass sung by the Rondalla Viejas Glorias, at 11:30pm Rosario Mohedano and Carlos Vargas will present the show Inseparables, and at 12:30am the flamenco group Albaicar will play.
On Sunday the 29th at 11:30am will be the offering of flowers to the Virgen del Pilar, with a procession of fiesta clubs (peñas), associations, horses and carriages, all in their best finery.
Paco Candele and Los del Guadalquivir will provide Monday night’s entertainment and the fair will close at 8pm on Tuesday with a concert by DesflamenK2.
