Urban Cultural Tour this Sunday includes caves, windmill, monuments and museum
Rojales Town Hall has organised an Urban Cultural Tour for this Sunday, April 22nd, when visitors can spend the morning being guided around different local places of interest.
Councillor Edelmira Andreu said they can see some unique places like the Aljibes (underground cisterns) de Gasparito, the windmill, the collection of historic hydraulic infrastructures by the River Segura, the archaeology-palaeontology museum and the Rodeo Caves.
All this will take about 4 hours, so people with mobility problems can come along if they travel by car between the sites.
She assured there is nowhere else in Alicante province with historic elements like these.
The tour starts at 9am by the Recinto Ferial information sign, then goes first to the Aljibes de Gasparito, built in 1922, then the 18th century windmill, where all the machinery is still inside.
After that they will visit the museum and the hydraulic monuments, including the stone 16th-18th century stone bridge, the weir and the water wheel, and finally the Rodeo Caves, where houses carved from the rock have been renovated and turned into studios by artists and the monthly art and craft encounter is held.
