Replacing paving, asphalting roads and restoring green areas and playgrounds
Orihuela Councillor Rafael Almagro has announced contracts have been awarded to repair pavements and tarmac roads in Orihuela Costa, and to restore green areas and children’s playgrounds in the same area.
Councillor Juan Ignacio López-Bas said one of the contracts is for €570,091 and the work will take four months to complete. He confirmed that another contract for repaving and asphalting for €500,000 more is being put out to tender. The areas that will be covered by the first contract are in most cases the ones where residents have made the most complaints.
These are, in Campoamor: Avenida de las Adelfas, C/José Monroy, Ronda Ramón de Campoamor, C/Miguel de Unamuno, C/ Ana Mª Matute, C/ San Juan de la Cruz, C/Lópe de Vega; in Los Dolses: Carretera de Villamartín; in Villamartín: Avenida de las Brisas and C/Richard Wagner; in Playa Flamenca c-2: C/ Salvador Dalí; in La Zenia: C/ La Fuente and the seaside promenade; in Citrus: C/ Clementina, C/Berna and Avenida de California; and in La Florida C/Escorpiones in PAU-20.
He said the company agreed to surface more roads worth €109,507 and carry out another improvement worth €62,379.
The second contract, to restore green areas and playgrounds, includes gardening, repairs to the irrigation systems, children’s play equipment, fixing sporting installations and furniture.
López Bas said this will cost €298,428 and the work will be in areas like Calle Apatito in Villapiedra, C/Cabo Turuiñan in Lomas de Cabo Roig, C/Limonero in Montezenia, C/Cabo Ortegal in Lomas de Cabo Roig, C/Plutón in La Florida, C/Escorpio in La Florida, C/Baikal in Lagosol-Sector F-2, C/ del Rocío and C/Colón.
The company also agreed to include more green areas worth €50,095 and supply extra play equipment and urban furniture worth €24,427.
