Full programme of fiesta fun from this Sunday to December 10th

The Patron fiestas of Torrevieja in honour of La Purisima begin on Sunday, November 27th with a superhero themed children’s parade and conclude on December 10th with the People’s Night Race, with other highlights including a Crazy Cars event and the Paella Contest at a new location, for which 200 teams have applied to join in this year.

Programme of events

Sunday November 27th

4:30pm – Children’s superhero parade, from the Centro cultural Virgen del Carmen along Calle Ramón Gallud.

Friday December 2nd

5:45pm – Giants and Bigheads first outing, from the Plaza de la Constitución around town.

Saturday December 3rd

10am – Gymkhanica fiestas team games. Registration and information at the CIAJ youth centre.

11:30 – San Fermín inflatable bull run for children, from Calle Maestro Vallejos to the Paseo Vista Alegre. White clothing is recommended and red hankies will be given out while stocks last.

Sunday December 4th

11am – Autos Locos, from Calle Bazán by Diego Ramírez Pastor downhill to the Plaza de la Constitución. Find some fancy dress, some friends and a contraption on wheels and join in the descent. There will also be a show by street entertainers, bouncy castles and refreshments.

December 4th-8th – Celebrating absent locals, on Calle Blasco Ibañez.

Sunday 4th, 8pm – Inauguration of monuments

Monday 5th, 5pm – Children’s party (clowns, face painting)

Tuesday 6th, 8pm – Paella contest

Wednesday 7th, Night with Lily, the Wolf and the Ogre. Dance with DJs from 10pm and parade from midnight.

Monday, December 5th

12:30pm and 5:45pm Giants and Bigheads outings from the Plaza de la Constitución.

Tuesday, December 6th

11am – Constitution Day ceremony, Plaza de la Constitución.

12pm – Paella Contest, Recinto Ferial Parque Antonio Soria.

12pm – Giants and Bigheads outing from the Plaza de la Constitución to the Recinto Ferial Parque Antonio Soria.

3pm – Concert by Los 80 Principales playing hits of the 1980s, Recinto Ferial Parque Antonio Soria. There will also be bouncy castles and a mechanical bull for children from 12pm-4pm.

5pm – Giants and Bigheads outing from the Recinto Ferial Parque Antonio Soria to the Plaza de la Constitución.

Wednesday, December 7th

12pm – Giants and Bigheads outing from the Plaza de la Constitución.

10pm – Night of the DJs dance, Calle Blasco Ibañez.

12am – Parade with Lily, the Wolf and the Ogre from Calle Blasco Ibañez.

Thursday December 8th

7am – Traditional Diana singing, from the Plaza de la Constitución.

6:30pm – Solemn Eucharist, followed by procession with the staue of the Inmaculada Concepción, from the church down Calle Caballero de Rodas around the streets and back. Firwork display when it reaches the Casino Cultural Society.

Saturday, December 10th
