Tremor had epicentre in Santomera (Murcia)

A small earthquake measuring 2.2 on the Richter scale with its epicentre in Santomera (Murcia) was felt on Sunday night in several towns around the Vega Baja. According to the National Geographic Institute (IGN), the tremor registered at 9:04pm at a depth of 11 kilometres.

Despite it being small, the shaking reached points as far from the epicentre in Santomera as Crevillente, passing through places including Orihuela, Redován, Callosa and Albatera, as can be seen on the graphic from the IGN.

This tremor is in addition to on over the night of Friday into Saturday, which measured 3.3 on the Richter scale and was off the coast six kilometres out to sea from the town centre.
