Halloween in Torrevieja has lots of activities for children, since Monday happens to be a day off school so a good excuse to celebrate. Local shops and catering businesses will also be adding to the fun.
Councillors Manuela Osuna and Donimgo Pérez presented the programme, which includes more than 60 local businesses for a traditional trick or treat.
In the morning in the Plaza de la Constitución children can enjoy mask making workshops from 11am-1pm, scary experiences workshops from 11am-12.30pm and scary story telling from 12pm-1:30pm.
Later between 6:30pm and 8:30pm there will be a photocall for children, bags of sweets being given out and a giant collage around the streets of the town centre.
There will be more scary experiences workshops from 7pm-8:30 on the pedestrianised streets of the centre.
The children’s zombie parade will take place from 5:30pm to 7pm, on a route taking in the Plaza Constitución, Ramón Gallud, María Parodi, Pedro Lorca, Joaquín Chapaprieta, Caballero de Rodas, and back to the Plaza Constitución. Any children in costume can join in and there will be entertainers, fire breathers, blood suckers, and American police car and more…
There will also be a disco in the Plaza Constitución from 7pm-9:30pm.
Each of the participating businesses will give out free sweets to children who come in costume, accompanied by an adult, and they will stamp their Zombie Passport. Whoever presents a stamped passport at the entertainment or workshops can get a free sweet and magical gift.
In La Mata there will be a ‘Gymkhana’ event involving local businesses for which participants will have to complete a series of tests to win a prize. Some restaurants will also be offering special menus. Oh yes, and there is the small matter of the Crónicas Zombies live role playing event taking over the streets of La Mata that night!
