Ribbons on Town Halls, charity events and manifestoes to commemorate World Day Against Breast Cancer

Pink ribbon on Almoradí Town Hall

The Vega Baja has joined in today, and over most of the week, with the commemoration of the World Day Against Breast Cancer. For this occasion, the main facade of Almoradí Town Hall was adorned all this week with a big pink ribbon showing their support for patients with this type of cancer.

In Dolores, the president of the local branch of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Josefina Cerezo read out a manifesto at the door of the Town Hall; which also happened in Bigastro, where they released pink balloons as well.

In Algorfa they will put on a gastronomic day in aid of the AECC on Saturday in the Plaza de España. From 7pm eleven local fiesta clubs will sell tapas they have made for €2.50 including a beer, and all of the money will go to the cancer charity.

There are also plans for musical performances by the local ‘charanga’ troupe, salsa and bachata dancing workshops and a performance by the Sala en la Calle Association, which is composed of 50 dancers from all over the province.
