48 year old man had €25,000 worth of marijuana in his house Dolores Guardia Civil have arrested Spanish man aged 48 in Catral for a public health offence because he was growing and preparing marijuana. They seized a total of 19 kilos of marijuana buds and 11 large marijuana plants. The buds had been put out to dry, taking up various rooms of his house, which had been searched by the officers. They also seized 11 marijuana plants that were about two metres tall which had been planted in an area of farmland in the same place. The drugs would have reached a black market value of about €25,000. This investigation has put an end to an important point of sale for drugs in Catral, as the also sold the drugs he was growing. Ribbons on Town Halls, charity events and manifestoes to commemorate World Day Against Breast Cancer Pink ribbon on Almoradí Town Hall The Vega Baja has joined in today, and over most of the week, with the commemoration of the World Day Against Breast Cancer. For this occasion, the main facade of Almoradí Town Hall was adorned all this week with a big pink ribbon showing their support for patients with this type of cancer. In Dolores, the president of the local branch of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Josefina Cerezo read out a manifesto at the door of the Town Hall; which also happened in Bigastro, where they released pink balloons as well. In Algorfa they will put on a gastronomic day in aid of the AECC on Saturday in the Plaza de España. From 7pm eleven local fiesta clubs will sell tapas they have made for €2.50 including a beer, and all of the money will go to the cancer charity. Condemned 50 year old confessed and was ordered to pay the child’s parents €96,000 The Provincial Court of Alicante has condemned the man who killed the ten year old son of his girlfriend in Torrevieja to 18 years in prison. The man, who is 50 years old, admitted what happened during the trial and has been convicted of murder with the aggravating circumstance of kinship. The sentence, which this publication had access to, also condemns him to compensate the mother of the child with €58,000 and the father with €38,000. The events occurred in a home in the urbanisation Torrealmendros on the night of May 4th, 2015. According to the sentence, the child’s mother and at the time also his girlfriend had a fierce argument with him. The woman went out into the street to ask for help from her neighbours and the now condemned man took advantage of this to lock the house and stab his girlfriend’s son no less than 18 times, which ended up killing the little ten year old boy.
