Four occupants arrested after signposts, street lights and bollards knocked over

A spectacular accident caused by a car travelling at high speed on Calle Pintor Agrasot in central Orihuela forced it to be closed to traffic for over an hour. Despite the shocking damage caused, fortunately no one was injured.

It happened at about 3:30pm today (Monday). A BMW with four youths inside entered the street at high speed taking everything in its way with it : signposts, a street light, a parked moped and three bollards separating the road from the pavement, according to police sources.

Several Local Police patrols were sent out, which arrested the four occupants o the vehicle, who were of Romanian nationality and under 20 years old. They all tested negative for alcohol and declared to the officers at the time that they had lost control of the car as it had a powerful engine.
