The municipal facilities in Pinar de Campoverde held a meeting of residents with Mayor Ignacio Ramos on Monday to explain the project to renovate the Medical Centre.
He explained that “the time has come to make a new centre that is adapted to today’s needs”.
It will have a surgery for emergencies, nursing and tests, one for Paediatrics, a children’s toilet, one for nurses and the midwife, two surgeries for general medicine, another nursing surgery, a men’s toilet and a women’s toilet, a storeroom for cleaning and waste, a cloakroom and a staff area.
“We don’t want a howspital, it isn’t a big project, we want a new Medical Centre and rehabilitating it to today’s needs will cost €340,000, which is affordable for our Town Hall,” insisted the mayor.
However, all the information was presented at a council meeting with documents by the designers, plans and 3D images, but the opposition parties said they did not have enough information and that the land is not municipal property.
The mayor added that the money left over from the 2016 budget would be enough to carry out the Medical Centre project, “and if we cannot do it now we will keep working to make the other parties agree to do it in the 2017 budget”.
