Rojales is putting on the third edition of the ‘Historic Countryside’ tour, which follows a route that is approved by the Valencian Community Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing (FEMECV).
The participants will set off at 9am on Sunday, September 18th, from the Recinto Ferial (fair ground) by the River Segura and cover a route that is eight kilometres long and not difficult. The duration is expected to be almost three hours, including a guided tour of the Ethnological Museum of the Countryside, where the Town Hall will offer free drinks of water or juice.
Councillor Edelmira Andreu described it as a multidisciplinary activity because it offers both physical exercise and teaches about the irrigation systems of the farmland, with their channels and canals, and shows the crops that are being grown in the fields right now.
“This is a walk around farmland is not only historic but alive and producing,” he said.
The Town Hall will also hand out a leaflet with information about the walk.
