Almoradí will host the first ever County Tourism Fair this weekend, September 23rd-25th in the Plaza de la Constitución, where 16 municipalities from the Vega Baja will be participating.
This fair is aimed at residents of the area but also tourists from elsewhere as well. It will show the attractive aspects of these municipalities and, as the host, Almoradí will put on a mini parade of Moors and Christians, a cookery show using artichokes, a tasting of migas and a concert of procession marches.
Callosa will put on demonstrations of hemp working and nativity scene making; Albatera will show esparto weaving; Torrevieja a habaneras concert; Guardamar a choir concert; and Dolores horse and cart rides.
There will be tastings of typical products, like meatballs from Catral, fruit from Cox, sweet pastries from Rojales and Christmas ones from Rafal and Los Montesinos, and milfeuille from Pilar.
Concerts will include a charanga from Algorfa, a quartet from Rafal and acoustic rock and roll from San Fulgencio.
All the activities can be viewed at this link: https://turismoycomercioalmoradi.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/interior.jpg
One of these is a free night time tour of local cultural places given by actors (in Spanish) on the 23rd, for which you have to register by sending an email to [email protected]
Almoradí councillor Rosana Martínez said they had invited all 27 Vega Baja municipalities in May. She hoped this fair will lead to other activities involving all the municipalities to promote local tourist attractions.
The fair will be open on Friday from 6pm-10pm, Saturday from 9am-2pm and 6pm-10pm, and Sunday from 10am-2pm.
