Torrevieja is holding a Nautical Sports Exhibition Day on La Mata beach on Thursday, September 15th. Councillor Fanny Serrano announced it is supported by the three local marinas and will show people the different activities they can do on the Torrevieja coast all year round.
She indicated that from 11am until 8pm visitors to La Mata beach will be able to see exhibitions of different nautical sports and take part in activities with jet skis, fly boarding, stand up paddle (SUP), surfing and jet boarding, all at half the usual price.
Serrano said this is a much more ambitious event than the last two nautical sports days they put on because they are taking it outside of the marinas to make it more visible. This is a way of reducing people’s reluctance to go into the clubs and marinas, which they may think are a bit elitist, and showing that these sports and activities are accessible for everyone and lots of fun.
The objectives of the day include getting people to have a try and get the bug for these activities, but also promoting Torrevieja as a nautical destination that is open 365 days a year, thanks to the local weather and infrastructures. The Town Hall has contributed by promoting the event and producing the posters and advertising material.
