Both councils show support for people’s equality and freedom

Orihuela and Torrevieja put out the rainbow flag on the balconies of their Town Halls to commemorate Gay Pride Day today, June 28th.

Orihuela Councillor Sabina Galindo said they support people’s equality and freedom. This year the flag had a black ribbon in memory of the attack in Orlando, Florida on June 10th, in which 50 people were killed and 53 injured at a gay club in the city.

In Torrevieja the council showed its sensitivity to requests from lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual collectives and individuals to help them to live in a world without discrimination.
