Players of all ages can compete in the Torrevieja Sports City Championship in June

Torrevieja Tennis Club and the Town Hall are putting on the first Torrevieja Sports City Championship from June 3rd-12th at the Ciudad Deportiva sports complex.

Councillor Pablo Samper said it is intended to encourage people to play tennis and everyone can compete in one of the different age categories, which range from children right up to veterans, in both male and female.

He said he hopes that lots of people will take part because many people like tennis in Torrevieja and there are great facilities to house events like this.

Registration costs €10 per person which can be paid into the bank account of the Club de Tenis Torrevieja (see the poster above) and send a copy of the receipt by email to [email protected]

There will be trophies for the finalists.

“Tennis takes a lot of effort, work and concentration but at the same time can be a lot of fun and dynamic,” added Samper, noting “The event is being organised by a club with a great history in our town and we are also lucky to have two promising great tennis players like Eva Guerrero and Nicola Kuhn as role models for many young sportspeople.”
