The eighth edition of the Orihuela Cross Norturno night race will be from 10pm on Boxing Night, December 26th. This fun event, which gets bigger every year, is organised by the Local Police Association ‘Virgen del Monserrate’ and the Oriol Athletics Club.
Councillor Dámaso Aparicio said ‘what makes it special is that the participants usually wear fancy dress and both they and the spectators enjoy a really festive atmosphere’.
Association president Manuel Lorente encouraged everyone to take part in the race, at the end of which everyone will get hot chocolate and mona cake. “We have high expectations and these continue seeing the number of people signing up:”
Police inspector Rate Vegara said there will be Civil Protection, the Red Cross and the Local Police on hand to guarantee everyone’s safety throughout the event.
There will be prizes to be won in the junior, senior, veterans, emergency services and costumes categories. Anyone interested in participating can sign up on the website www.crono3.es and they can pick up their numbers for the race from Christmas Day.
