This Sunday, December 6th, there is a variety of things to see and do in Rojales, coinciding with the monthly arts and crafts fair at the Cuevas del Rodeo neighbourhood of cave houses in the town.
From 11am the artists and artisans will be offering their wares and happy to explain how they make them to visitors. In fact this time there will be two free practical workshops offering advice on painting (in cave 11) and origami (in cave 2), which are on between 11:30am and 1:30pm.
You can also visit the art exhibition at the Sala Mengolero cave, which until December 20th is Variaciones by the artist Mirtya Huizzi.
If you are looking for a bit more action, then don’t miss the Medieval Combat Training, also from 11am at the caves, and your morning will certainly be a knight to remember, if you’ll excuse the pun.
There is more family entertainment in the afternoon at the Capitol theatre, where there will be a performance of the musical El Gato y La Golondrina (The Cat and the Swallow). Described as a love story in four seasons, it is based on a story by the Brazilian novelist Jorge Amado. Entry is free of charge.
Also at the Capitol Theatre, but on Monday at 5pm, there is another show for all the family. This one is called La Reina de las Nieves (The Snow Queen) and is based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen. Tickets cost €9 in advance or €11 on the day and are available from www.instanticket.es, Leila stationery shop, Phonotec Rojales and Cafe Aljibe.
