Now in its third edition, the ‘Compete and Share’ technological party is taking place this weekend, November 28th-29th and December 22nd-23rd at La Lonja exhibition hall in Orihuela city, from 4pm-10pm each day.
Councillor Carolina Gracia said “this is one of the activities we have been asked for most in the surveys we carried out in local schools”.
Over the course of these days, which are aimed at people aged 12-35, organiser Marvi García explained there will be tournaments in various games, adapted to the ages of the participants, with prizes like videogames, controllers and T-shirts. The idea of this is to “bring gaming out of the home and bring it into a group environment” for young people “to meet each other and share experiences”, he said.
The games include Call of Duty Ghosts, FIFA 2015, Dance Central, Lips and Forza 4.
As it is aimed above all at teenagers, there will also be an educational component. Indeed on December 23rd at 7pm there will be a talk about quality control and design of videogames that will also show those present how to look for work with companies in the sector.
