Live music, graffiti, skateboarding, a talent show and a theatrical production this weekend International Youth Day is celebrated annually across the globe on 12th August, following a declaration by the United Nations. Torrevieja is among the cities that fully respects the occasion, and as a mark of this has organised various events which are predominantly aimed at young people. The activities start today, Friday 15th August, when residents and visitors are invited to attend a talent contest to be held in the Garden of Nations, which is based on the popular TV series “Britain’s Got Talent”. The contest has been created by the Youth Association “Five Continents”, in collaboration with the Youth Council (CIAJ), and any budding stars between the ages of 5 and 35 years are welcome to compete! Also on Friday, Torrevieja will host the world famous “Electromar”, electronic music festival, at the Parque del Reina Sofia, which is dubbed the biggest event of the summer, anywhere on the coast. Then on Saturday 16th August at 6pm is the “Acequión Jam Session”, which will take place at the Parque de la Estación.
