Rojales town hall appeals to residents to demand action from Valencia The primary school in Rojales is in such bad condition that the Town Hall Education Department is trying to show the Valencian Government so it will build a new school. Councillor for Education Isabel Cañizares said that after numerous meetings in with the heads of the Valencian Education Department Alicante and Valencia without any results, the council have decided to write a letter to Valencian Education Councillor María José Catalá, a template version of which has been handed out around the schools in the area. The letter explains that she already knows all about the problems at the school as they have visited her many times, only to return frustrated, despite the wear and tear that more than 40 years have taken on the building. Pieces of roofing have fallen off that could have his a child or a teacher, the toilets are from a bygone era, the water pipes are made of lead, the tiles are falling off the walls, the electrical installation is deficient, the pillars supporting the main building had to be fixed, as did the structure holding up part of the gym and a pillar, let alone the state of the playground, just to give a few examples.
