Real Estate Market News: Great Buys

The new weekly low down on local real estate from RE/MAX By Erica Hayward, Manager, RE/MAX Beach Homes Good day and welcome to the first of many opinion articles on the local real estate market. Weekly I will be writing about the ins and outs of real estate in the Southern Costa Blanca area. Real estate times are changing.  Currently there are many buyers out looking to purchase a home or investment property. However, many of those buyers are out looking for those illusive frontline properties for around €50,000.  As we say in our office, “if you find one, let us know- we’d like to buy it!” Those are nearly non-existent.  However, there are several good buys out there – but when thinking about purchasing one of those “great deals” – buyers shouldn’t be limited to focusing solely on bank owned properties. There are several resale properties available at competitive prices, along with numerous new builds which include interesting packages that make it well worthwhile to further investigate what is available on the market. Here are a couple of examples: 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Bungalow in Dream Hills for €65,000. 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Apartments in the Campoamor Golf area for around €70,000. 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Apartments in Playa Flamenca starting at €65,000. New 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath Bungalows from €105,000 with great common areas close to golf...

Goalless draw puts Orihuela through

First leg victory enough to get to next round of play offs Madrid team Unión Adarbe needed three goals at home to overcome Orihuela’s lead from the first leg of this play off for promotion, but were not able to beat goalkeeper Emilio on a pitch that is very narrow and on which any long ball, throw in or corner posed a danger. Adarbe had more chances but the ‘Scorpions’ of Orihuela put up a firm defence and had to hold on to the bitter end. Right from the start, they showed they intended to win and in the 10th minute Martín was one on one with the Orihuela keeper, who slid in and took the ball from his feet. Orihuela also had chances, like in the 22nd minute when Tonino unsuccessfully tried to play Fleki through with a back heel. Six minutes later the Madrid team came back and Agus put the ball just wide of the post. The away team were on the back foot for the rest of the first half but Sergi still managed a counter attack one minute from the break, which De las Heras trapped to keep the teams level. In the second half, the game was evenly fought and as the clock ran down the locals were running out of hope, especially after Cadavas was sent off in the 61st minute for...
