The number of people who are registered as unemployed in the Vega Baja has dropped by 406 people in February, of whom 293 are men and 113 women, according to data from the Valencian Employment and Training Service (SERVEF). Over the same period last year unemployment rose by 202 people.

A total of 37,564 people are currently registered as unemployed in the Vega Baja. The biggest drops in unemployment were in Orihuela, with 73 new employees; Almoradí with 63; Catral with 42; and Torrevieja with 37.

In February, unemployment dropped in most places, except in cox, where it rose by 20 people; Pilar de la Horadada, with 4 fewer workers; and San Isidro and Daya Vieja, both with 2 new people on the dole.
