Torrevieja Sports Centre is at full capacity for the demand from numerous national and international clubs
The installations of the Ciudad Deportiva (Sporting City) centre have been at full cpacity since the beginning of this summer, informed Councillor for Sports Luis María Pizana, who expressed his satisfaction at the popularity of these municipal sports installations. This popularity is reflected by the demand from numerous national and international clubs to hold their summer camps there.
Amongst those who have chosen the town for their training are the Norwegian Football School, with more than 100 children and 150 relatives; another Norwegian football club is there this week with more than 100 players and 200 parents, all staying full-board at the Hotel Cabo Cervera; the Norwegian Handball School, with 19 children aged 9-14 accompanied by 100 parents and making use of both the ‘Infanta Cristina’ Palace of sports and the ‘Cecelia Gallega’ Municipal Pavillion; the Champions of Torrevieja Football Camp, being held in the Sporting City with 90 children aged 9-14 from various clubs around Spain; and the Summer Bodycombat for adults, every Tuesday and Thursday, mornings and evenings on the outdoor courts of the Sporting City duting the months of July, August and September.
Lastly, the Councillor for Sports highlighted the historic Summer Swimming Courses, which has been put on by the Town Hall for almost three decades. During the month of July until August 6th, more than 100 children aged 4-16 will take swimming classes spread over four time slots in the morning and evening.
